With the unique Inspiration design pool, that has developed a wide variety of creative decorative designs in cooperation with a team of young designers, REHAU is now looking anew at the idea of edgings as crucial design elements. In this way, the company is opening up hitherto entirely unexplored dimensions and producing versatile creative decorative designs that start a fresh chapter in the design history and importance of edgings.

Baroque-look floral elements, a novel type of ornamentation that is graphical, geometrical and colourful all at the same time, braiding Asia-style and Op Art in popular black and white – the unique quality of the designs is truly impressive.
The desire for more individuality and a more personal touch to design, plus an ever more obvious trend towards more love of detail are bringing the design focus further onto edging elements. No longer are edgings mere functional but decoratively neutral elements lost in the overall look of the room or living area – edgings are now defining these spaces anew. “Inspiration – Individual Design Solutions by REHAU” sets out the history of edgings as design elements and throws light on their numerous uses.
With this 160 page book, worked on closely with Gerd Ohlhauser, whose input has been crucial to its design as regards both text and rich illustrations, REHAU is breaking new ground in the field of communication.
“Inspiration” goes beyond the concepts of sales literature and pattern catalogue. “Inspiration” is a design-oriented and descriptive publication. It makes plain just what broad dimensions such a comparatively neutral, minimal element as the edgeband can assume in overall furniture and room design.
Expert contributions from renowned design specialists such as Professor Volker Fischer and Professor Axel Venn, provide ideas – some factual and retrospective, some visionary and modern.
